Orgyen Tenzin Norbu (1851-1900)

Also known as Onpo Tendzin Norbu, he was one of the greatest scholars of the closest students of Patrul Rinpoche.

He studied sutra and tantra with Patrul and received stage-by-stage training in Dzogpa Chenpo from the great master.

Tenzin Norbu longed to become a wandering hermit but Patrul Rinpoche told him to teach instead. He followed this advice for the rest of his life.

From 1883, Patrul Rinpoche stopped giving public teachings, instead referring people to receive instruction from Tenzin Nobu. After Patrul's death, he gathered all of Rinpoche's writings and compiled them into six volumes.
