The Heart Sutra, or the Essence of Transcendent Wisdom, teaches the meaning of the Great Mother—the prajnaparamita. This text is traditionally emphasized and recited by all Mahayana Buddhists as it reveals the ultimate nature of all phenomena. However, in the Vajrayana tradition it has particular significance as the basis for chod practice. Chod, the practice of cutting through self-attachment, has its roots in both the sutra and the tantra, and the Heart Sutra acts as the source of both of these.
Join Anyen Rinpoche at Orgyen Khandroling as he continues his commentary on the Heart Sutra as the foundation for chod practice. This series of teachings began in 2023, though new registrants are welcome.
