In this ongoing series of public talks, Allison Choying Zangmo will offer guidance to students who want to gain a better understanding of meditation according to the Vajrayana tradition, as well as the Vajrayana tradition itself, whether they are just beginning or have been practicing for years. Allison has been training in Vajrayana practice since 1999 under the direct guidance of Tibetan master Anyen Rinpoche. During that time, she has supported many students in understanding and connecting with Vajrayana practice, helping them work through common questions and challenges.

When practitioners first visit a Vajrayana Buddhist center, the sangha is likely engaged in a variety of sadhana practices, rituals, and offerings such as tsok (ganachakra) that have been learned and practiced over many years. It may feel overwhelming or even totally different from our expectation of what meditation is. While these practices are actually powerful transformative methods, it takes time to learn how to use them. Students often need ongoing guidance to understand how to work with them and what brings out their magic.

In these talks, Allison will speak directly to some of the questions that arise as students either encounter Vajrayana practice for the first time or begin to deepen their practice. Please also join us if you are exploring Vajrayana practice and want to find out whether this path may be right for you.
